Check the screw bolt if it is too small for the exsiting hardware
Remove the existing hardward and fit with insert nuts
Twist the screw into the insert nut

That old leg was probably attached with a different bolt. Our wooden furniture legs are pre-drilled with 5/16″ hanger bolts that fit most American made furniture.
If there are no holes in the bottom of your furniture, you need to drill a hole and screw in the new one.
